3 New 7 Seat SUVs From Skoda And Volkswagen
News
SUVs are increasingly becoming popular in India, especially among families seeking more space and versatility. In this segment, not only Indian brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, and Mahindra, but also international players like Skoda and Volkswagen are making their presence felt with new offerings. Here’s a look at three upcoming 7-seater SUVs from these European brands.
Lower-Spec Volkswagen Tayron
Volkswagen recently launched the high-performance Tayron R-Line in India at a price of Rs 46.99 lakh ex-showroom. However, reports suggest that a new lower-spec variant is on the cards. This non R-Line model will feature a more conservative design with a less sporty grille and bumper. It is expected to share the same 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine but with reduced power and torque output compared to the top model.
Skoda Kodiaq Diesel
Skoda, known for its spacious and comfortable vehicles, currently offers the Kodiaq only with a petrol engine in India. However, the company has hinted at reintroducing diesel engines in limited numbers for certain models, including the Superb and Kodiaq. The Kodiaq diesel will offer premium features from the petrol version, possibly even more. Since it’s imported as a CBU (Completely Built Unit), expect a higher price point. Skoda might skip some features to maintain affordability.
Skoda Kodiaq RS
Skoda is also set to bring a performance-oriented variant of the Kodiaq—the Kodiaq RS. This model will showcase an RS-specific design with a sportier look, including a blacked-out grille, lowered stance, and exterior details. Inside, expect luxurious features such as a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, three-zone automatic climate control, powered front seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions, and more. The Kodiaq RS will retain the standard model’s 2.0-litre engine but be tuned for better performance.
