Naughty List
Dasher and Dancer
These two companies, with the same parent company, sent out a sudden email on December 13th, announcing they were cutting publisher commissions to "zero" due to "budget constraints," right in the middle of peak holiday shopping season. A strategic move for free traffic, but not ideal for affiliates.
Prancer
A merchant discovered this week had a sneaky pricing strategy. The product heavily promoted by affiliates was 25% cheaper on their direct website than through affiliate links. This left affiliates looking uncompetitive as they were promoting higher prices.
Vixen
This major industry player dominated the news with frequent, disruptive rule changes during the holiday season. Their unpredictable behavior made them a "shrewish and ill-tempered" force to be reckoned with, both attractive and intimidating.
Comet
A large company’s sudden mid-season change to terms of service with only 7 days’ notice caused significant disruptions for publishers, who had to review and potentially change thousands of links to ensure compliance.
Cupid
An email marketing company quoted one price for services but charged double upon account creation. Their support system offered no help, citing insufficient payment as the reason, despite the initial quote.
Nice List
Donder (the Original Name from the Poem)
Tricia discovered reversed transactions for a niche merchant in November, raising questions about their practices and click tracking methods.
