Mahindra is raising prices across its petrol and diesel SUV lineup by up to 2.5 percent, effective April 6, 2026. The average increase across the portfolio works out to 1.6 percent. This revision affects the entire internal combustion engine range, including:
- Thar
- Thar Roxx
- Scorpio-N
- Scorpio Classic
- XUV 3XO
- XUV700
- Bolero
- Commercial vehicles
It does not include the Born Electric lineup or the recently launched XUV7XO.
What the Increase Means
Applying the average 1.6 percent hike to current prices gives a sense of the changes:
- XUV 3XO: Approximately Rs 7.49 lakh to Rs 14.78 lakh (from the current Rs 7.37 lakh to Rs 14.55 lakh).
- Thar Roxx: Roughly Rs 12.59 lakh to Rs 22.61 lakh (from Rs 12.39 lakh to Rs 22.25 lakh).
- Scorpio-N: Between Rs 13.71 lakh and Rs 24.73 lakh (from Rs 13.49 lakh to Rs 24.34 lakh).
These are estimates; actual hikes vary by variant and model.
Mahindra attributes the increase to rising input costs, particularly sharp increases in steel and precious metal prices over recent months. The company had previously held back a price revision in January to benefit from GST rate reductions implemented late last year.
Not Alone
This isn’t an isolated move; other manufacturers are also raising prices:
- Tata Motors raised prices from April 1 with a weighted average increase of 0.5 percent across ICE passenger vehicles and up to 1.5 percent on commercial vehicles.
- JSW MG Motor, BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz announced fresh pricing from April 1.
Input cost pressures are prompting these adjustments; buyers considering an ICE SUV from Mahindra should act soon if they want the old prices. Notably, the XUV7XO first 40,000 bookings are protected at the original prices.
