Mahindra’s electric SUV line-up, comprising the BE 6, XEV 9e, and XEV 9S, has achieved a significant milestone, selling over 50,000 units in under a year. This rapid growth is a testament to Mahindra’s success in the EV market.
A Rapid Rise
- Initial Sales: Mahindra took seven months to reach 30,000 sales by November 2025.
- Accelerated Growth: The number crossed 41,000 in February 2026, and an impressive 50,000 was achieved in six weeks.
- Production Boost: The company expanded production from 5,000 to 8,000 units per month as of March 2026, directly impacting delivery times.
- March 2026 Sales: Mahindra sold 5,217 units, a year-on-year increase of 141 percent compared to the same period in 2025 (2,166 units).
Three Models, One Platform
The three EVs share the INGLO skateboard architecture:
- BE 6: Entry-level model priced from ₹18.90 lakh, with a 59 kWh or 79 kWh battery pack offering up to 682 km range.
- XEV 9S: Starting at ₹19.95 lakh, also available with the same battery packs.
- XEV 9e: Priced from ₹21.90 lakh, featuring a larger 79 kWh pack for up to 656 km range.
Attracting New Buyers
Notably, eight out of ten buyers were new to Mahindra, indicating successful market penetration and satisfaction among non-traditional customers. These SUVs have collectively traveled over 32 crore kilometers, with many units logging more than 1,000 km per month.
Charging Infrastructure
Mahindra addresses range anxiety by supporting 175 kW DC fast charging, allowing the 79 kWh pack to reach 80 percent in around 30 minutes on compatible chargers.
