Why I Removed My 2Create Courses & More Updates!
Hello everyone! It’s been a while since we last "saw" each other. I wanted to share some updates with you all.
What’s New
The most notable change is that my 2Create courses are now private. Over the past few months, I’ve received many emails asking about them, primarily because they’ve been set to private. The reason for this is twofold:
- After my dad fell sick in March, I realized I couldn’t dedicate time to supporting students across two websites while focusing mainly on PSP (my primary focus).
- I also had to acknowledge that I wasn’t actively promoting or marketing the 2Create courses, despite having around 500 enrolled students. While this isn’t a bad number, it could have been better if I’d put in more effort with marketing.
I’ve never felt comfortable or efficient with marketing my products; it intimidates me. So, while others excel at tracking email campaigns and conversions, I prefer creating T-shirt designs.
The Rewards of Selling T-Shirt Designs
For a long time, affiliate marketing and AdSense were my favorite ways to earn online. However, print-on-demand (POD) has now taken the top spot. Despite not having a design background, I’ve learned a lot since starting this site over a decade ago. Back then, my team lead at American Airlines forced us to use Photoshop but provided no training—I remember feeling overwhelmed by the tools and buttons staring back at me. Fast forward 12 years later, I’m now using Photoshop and Illustrator to create detailed art that I never thought possible.
To put things into perspective, one T-shirt design has generated over $20,000 in royalties. It’s rewarding to see my designs sell by the thousands, and it proves anyone can do this regardless of their background.
Considerations Before Starting POD
With such significant income potential, print on demand is not for everyone. Here are a few things to consider:
- Desire to Learn: You need a genuine interest in learning the POD business and some familiarity with software if you want to scale your income.
- Building a Brand: For long-term success, focus on building a brand rather than relying solely on passive traffic and income.
- Competition: The market is becoming increasingly competitive, so ensure you enter for the right reasons.
- Therapeutic Value: Personally, I found the creation process therapeutic during my dad’s illness, which has been another reason I’ve stayed with it.
However, be prepared for potential theft. Amazon and other PODs often don’t protect your work adequately, leading to images being stolen and re-uploaded to various sites. Therefore, I use aliases for my POD accounts and keep much of my work private.
